What we remove
Plating and surface treatment
Spent plating solutions, drag-out and rinse waters, satin nickel, silver cyanide, copper and nickel plating solutions, and the filter cake and sludges from treatment plant.
Filter cakes and metal-bearing sludges
Filter cake, settlement sludge, and grinding sludges carrying nickel, cobalt, tungsten, copper or molybdenum.
Thermal spray and HVOF overspray
Overspray collected from booth filters and extraction. Frequently overlooked, and frequently paid for as disposal when the tungsten and cobalt content is recoverable. Worth having assayed before you pay to dispose of it again.
Spent catalysts
Nickel, cobalt and molybdenum-bearing catalysts and catalyst fines.
Acids and process liquors
Spent acids and process liquors carrying dissolved metal.

How it works
Tell us what you have. Description, approximate volume, frequency, and the List of Waste code if you have it. Where classification is unclear we will help establish it.
We confirm the route. Which permitted facility the material goes to and under what documentation, confirmed before collection is booked.
We arrange collection. Nationwide collection across the UK, using a registered carrier. Containers supplied where required. There is no minimum volume.
Treated and documented. Your material is treated at a permitted facility and you receive the documentation pack.

Stella Materials is a trading name of Stella Industrial Services Ltd, registered with the Environment Agency as an upper tier waste broker, CBDU636869.
All material is treated at an authorised permitted partner facilities, and carried by registered carriers.
Where a rebate is possible
Where a stream carries recoverable metal in sufficient concentration the recovered value can offset the cost of handling it, and in some cases exceed it. Rebates are available on many streams we handle, subject to assay.
Classification and mirror entries
Some metal-bearing wastes appear in the List of Waste twice: once as hazardous and once as non-hazardous. Which applies depends on the concentration of the substances present, not on how the material is described.
This is the most common source of confusion we see, and getting it wrong in either direction causes problems. An under-classified load can be rejected at the gate; an over-classified one costs more to move than it needs to.
